India's oldest and most respected Prasad Film Laboratories has forged a mega alliance with Italy's L'Immagine Ritrovata Film Restoration Lab for the digital restoration of old classics to archive them. It is the biggest film restoration project in History as it involves 2500 films of different genres including commercial as well the art house work of such legends as Sathyajith Ray.

India the largest film producing country in the world has rather woken up late and only now even the governments have taken steps to preserve the rich work on film done by masters of the past. It is really a commendable effort by the Prasad Labs who have taken the step in the right direction with making the deal with the world's leading restoration company.
